Bathroom and Accessibility Renovation in Wesson Court, Corio
The primary areas of focus for this project were the installation of a new front entrance ramp and a comprehensive bathroom modification. We collaborated closely with an experienced architect to devise a clever and functional design that would address the specific needs of the participant. Our goal was to not only meet the accessibility requirements but also to create a beautiful and user-friendly space.
One of the key changes made to the existing layout involved the removal of a linen cupboard in the hallway. This strategic decision allowed us to significantly increase the size of the bathroom, facilitating the installation of essential features. In place of the linen cupboard, we seamlessly integrated a wall-hung vanity and a new toilet, optimizing the available space and ensuring that the participant didn’t lose any valuable storage capacity.
In the powder room, where the existing basin was located, we installed a linen cupboard to compensate for the one removed in the hallway. This thoughtful addition helped maintain the participant’s storage needs without compromising the overall design or functionality of the space. Our collaboration with the participant extended beyond the structural changes to include detailed discussions about color selections. Understanding the importance of creating a bright and spacious atmosphere in what was originally a small bathroom, we worked together to choose colors that not only met the participant’s preferences but also contributed to a visually appealing and uplifting environment.
To add a personal touch and avoid the clinical look often associated with accessible bathrooms, the participant opted for feature tiles. These tiles not only serve a practical purpose but also inject a sense of style into the space, making it feel more like a home rather than a medical facility.
In line with our commitment to personalized service, we installed grab rails strategically throughout the bathroom to ensure safety without compromising the aesthetic appeal. The participant also added some extra fittings to further customize the space according to their unique preferences and requirements.
This project exemplifies our dedication to creating spaces that are not only functional and accessible but also aesthetically pleasing. Layout Transformation
In the Wesson Court project, our primary objective was to revamp the layout of the existing bathroom to enhance its functionality and spaciousness.
The transformation began with the removal of the linen cupboard situated in the hallway, a strategic decision that significantly increased the size of the bathroom, paving the way for further modifications and installations.
Shower and Toilet Upgrade
The next phase of the renovation involved the removal of the existing bath and shower. This allowed us to create a larger level entry shower, offering a more accessible and comfortable bathing experience.
Additionally, we installed an additional toilet, which not only provided an essential amenity but also contributed to greater circulation space compared to the pre-existing toilet setup.
Installation of Modern Amenities
To complete the renovation, we installed a sleek wall hung basin and strategically placed grab rails throughout the bathroom. These installations were not just about aesthetics but also about ensuring ease of use and safety for the occupants.
The wall hung basin added a touch of modernity, while the grab rails enhanced the accessibility and support within the bathroom.
