A Recent PB Builds Project: Upstairs Bathroom in Jan Juc
The upstairs bathroom in this Jan Juc home needed a full rebuild, and the owners wanted a bath, a shower and proper storage in the one room. We started on 30 March 2026 and handed it back in early May, about six weeks from strip-out to keys.
🛁 New bath, carried upstairs A two-person lift up the stairs. We left the bath until tiling was done so it didn’t hold up other trades, then set it, levelled it and connected the waste from underneath.
🪵 Custom vanity and tallboy VJ panel-look doors in a vinyl wrap, Blum hinges and Blum Antaro drawers. The tallboy gives the room the storage a single vanity never has.
🪨 20mm stone benchtop Templated once the cabinetry was in. We booked electrical fit-off and painting into the two to three week stone wait so the room kept moving.
🚰 Side-mounted basin tap Set on the side wall, high enough and far enough out to clear the basin. The plumber, cabinetmaker and our site lead agreed the set-out on site before fit-off.
🪞 750mm mirrored shaving cabinet Sized to the vanity.
🚿 10mm clear toughened frameless screen Measured after tiling and fitted within a week.
🧱 New floor, waterproofing and full retile New underlay, a self-levelled floor, two-coat waterproofing, then floor tiles, wall tiles and tiled skirting.
